Hereford will get a new Asian street food restaurant from next month.

Bao to the Broth formerly operated from De Koffie Pot at the Left Bank Village by the Old Bridge. Now owner Ben Griffiths has put in a bid for a licence at 48 St Owen’s Street, the entrance to which is on Cantilupe Street. This previously housed PRL, a Polish restaurant, which opened in 2016.

Mr Griffiths’ application seeks permission to serve alcohol and food at the 150-square-metre premises until midnight every night.

The plan is to open it at “the back end of October”, he said.

“It’ll be similar to what we have done previously, but with more improved dishes and been able to serve in our own environment, will be a big plus to us as it’ll give such a better experience for the customer,” he explained.

Comments on the licensing application can be made on the Herefordshire Council website until October 10.

A Bao to the Broth outlet named Dojo Ramen-Ya! also opened in the Butter Market two years ago.
