Councils in Gloucestershire are set to receive more than £34million in coronavirus relief money from the Government for frontline services.
It’s part of a £1.6billion funding package being sent to all local authorities in England to deal with the immediate impacts of the coronavirus outbreak.
Gloucestershire County Council, which runs adult social care in the county, will be handed more than £27m from the Government.
The county’s six district councils, which run services such as waste collection and housing the homeless, will each receive a range of money from £915,000 to £1.3million.
Forest of Dean District Council and Cotswold District Council are among the authorities to receive the lowest funding package.
It is not yet clear the exact financial impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on the local authorities in Gloucestershire.

“We are backing local district councils and a clear majority will receive at least £1m in additional funding.”
