If you’re thinking of standing as a councillor in May’s Worcester City Council election, you won’t want to miss an upcoming special online briefing session.

The event will give prospective candidates – and their potential agents – all the essential information they need to know about the elections.

The briefing will be held at 6pm on Thursday March 17. Would-be candidates and agents must book in advance to join the online briefings.

To register your interest for the City Council briefing, please email electoralservices@worcester.gov.uk.

The briefing will run through essentials like how to complete nomination papers, how much money can be spent on campaigning, how postal votes work and many other important matters.

There will also be a West Mercia Police officer on hand to discuss the dangers of electoral fraud.

This year’s elections will take place on Thursday May 5.

Twelve City Council seats will be contested, in the Battenhall, Bedwardine, Cathedral, Claines, Gorse Hill, Nunnery, Rainbow Hill, St John, St Peter’s, Warndon, Warndon Parish North and Warndon Parish South wards.
