Worcester's new Mayor has taken up residence in the Parlour at the Guildhall with outgoing Mayor, Councillor Jo Hodges, offering up her robes to Cllr Stephen Hodgson, who was voted in at last night’s Annual Council meeting.

Cllr Adrian Gregson was voted in as Deputy Mayor.

The meeting also saw the Conservatives’ Cllr Marc Bayliss voted Leader of Worcester City Council – and Cllr Chris Mitchell as Deputy Leader.

Cllr Stephen Hodgson said: “It’s a great privilege to be chosen as Mayor of Worcester, having lived in the city for over 30 years.  I’d also like to congratulate all those who have been newly elected as members following the recent local elections.

“It’s now time for us to come together and celebrate our great city, as we move forward and recover from the pandemic.  There will be plenty of opportunities to do so over the coming months.”
