Police in North Worcestershire have arrested four people in the last two days related to selling drugs and possession of drugs.
On Tuesday 4 October, officers from Redditch responded to reports that drugs were being sold from a car in Redditch. Two people were arrested under the misuse of Drugs Act and a quantity of drugs, cash and mobile phones were seized.
Also on Tuesday, officers from Kidderminster on targeted patrol have seen two men acting suspiciously and when they approached the men they tried to run off. Both were detained a short time later and around £700 in cash and three mobile phones, scales and other drug paraphernalia were seized. Both men arrested were from the Wolverhampton area.
Detective Sergeant Alex Farmer from Kidderminster CID said: “Drugs can have a crippling impact on our communities. Young people are often taken advantage of and drugs supply generates other offences often to support habits or pay debts which impacts on the wider public.
“Vulnerable people are often used to perform roles within the enterprise with little or no regard for their wellbeing, from trafficking to cuckooing and we will continue tirelessly.
“Anyone with any concerns about potential drug crime in their area is urged to get in touch. We act on all reports we receive.”
