The parts of Worcester with the lowest percentage of vaccinated people have been revealed.

NHS figures show that Worcester city centre has the lowest uptake among adults with just over 56 per cent of those eligible receiving two doses of a Covid vaccine.

The highest percentage in Worcester is in Northwick where almost 82 per cent of people have been vaccinated having received both Covid jabs.

A total of 60,657 people have been vaccinated in Worcester so far – just under 70 per cent of those eligible.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) splits the city into several ‘middle super output areas’ which are zones that are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people in each.

Worcester Town North and Worcester Town South – the two zones covering the city centre – have the lowest percentage of vaccinated people according to the figures.

As many as 56 per cent of people in Worcester Town South – which includes the city centre towards Worcester Cathedral as well as Sidbury, parts of London Road, Wyld’s Lane and Lowesmoor – have been vaccinated and 58 per cent of people in Worcester Town North – which covers many WR1 and some WR3 postcodes and includes most of the city centre, Arboretum and Barbourne – have also been vaccinated.

At almost 62 per cent, the third lowest uptake was in King George’s Field which covers WR3 and WR4 postcodes including parts of Astwood Road, Tolladine Road, Langdale Drive, Brickfields Road and Blackpole Road.

Warndon West – which includes Shap Drive, Cranham Drive and part of Windermere Drive – has the fourth lowest uptake at just over 64 per cent – and both Dines Green and St Johns and Rokewood and Nunnery Wood have just over 66 per cent vaccinated people.

The top five areas for vaccine uptake are Northwick, St Peter’s and Lyppard Grange at 81, 79 and 76 per cent and Lower Wick and Bromwich Road and Battenhall and Diglis at 76 and 74 per cent.

Almost three quarters of those eligible have been vaccinated in both Warndon East and Barbourne and Rainbow Hill and 68 per cent of people have been vaccinated in Henwick.
