Westfields travelled for the first time to Bradford Town in the Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday and despite taking an early lead had to settle for a 1-1 draw when the home side secured a point with a goal 3 minutes from time.
The Hereford team were looking to build on that performance and took an early lead when leading goalscorer Josh Hunt scored an opening goal in the 6th minute with a terrific drive from the edge of the box.
Westfields then went close on a number of occasions to add into the score line when Dan Stoneman was denied with a goal line clearance and then John Hill in the Bradford goal twice brought off good saves from Greaves and Hunt.
The team defended well in the first half where they enjoyed the better of the exchanges but after the break the home side began to get more into the game and it took some sterling work by Ian Havard in the Westfields goal and the Westfields back line to keep the home forwards at bay.
Richard Greaves nearly added to the Westfields tally when he had a header from a Stoneman corner cleared off the line and then as the game was nearing the end, Bradford drew level when Westfields failed to clear a left wing cross and George Box volleyed home at the far post to put the sides level.
Westfields still had chances to have clinched the points when both youngsters Harrison Summers and Cawley Cox raced clear of the Bradford Town defence but were thwarted by good saves from John Hill in the Bradford goal.
Westfields had to settle for a point but it keeps them in the top 6 and now prepares them for their next 2 games which are a home game on Tuesday night against Longlevens, which kicks off at 7.45pm at allpay.park, and next Saturday they visit Thornbury for an away league fixture.
