West Mercia Police says it will continue to offer reassurance over the next couple of days.

It follows an incident that occurred outside Holmer Primary School yesterday, for which a suspect was arrested.

The man has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.

He is set to appear at Hereford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 April 2025.

Officers have been at the school today conducting high visibility patrols providing reassurance during both the morning drop off, and afternoon pick up.

Julie Slatter, PCSO, Hereford City Northside said: "We have been speaking to parents and teachers, and have enjoyed engaging with the children who always have lots of questions for us."

"We will continue to provide reassurance over the next couple of days, so if you see us there, please encourage your children to come and say hello."
