A local charity are set to open a new cafe in the heart of Hereford's city centre.

The Life and Soul Kitchen has been operating from their site at Three Elms Trading Estate since 2019, support adults with learning difficulties, giving them an opportunity to work in a busy cafe environment.

The new cafe will be based in the empty unit opposite Wilkos, formerly occupied by Delight Coffee and Muffins.

The charity currently supports 21 adults with disabilities, helping them to reach their own unique, full potential, through empowering independence, choice and inclusion. Working with local organisations such as Beacon College, National Star and Aconbury school, they are also able to offer meaningful work experience opportunities.

Discussing the new site, Charity Director, Sophie Badham said "We're very excited to be opening a new cafe, in addition to our existing site.

Having a ground floor provision is going to be hugely beneficial to the adults that we support and will allow us to be more accessible to both our team and our customers. Running two sites will also allow our adults to work in different locations, meet new people and, in turn, gain more confidence."

As with their main site, the new cafe in Maylord Orchards will also be a Talk Community Hub, which aims to also help bring people together, strengthen our local community and provide a safe place where people can access wellbeing information.

The new site will open on 3 May.
