A bid has been put forward to build four homes, complete with home office space, on part of a Herefordshire village paddock.

The land by Cusop Dingle near the Welsh border at Hay-on-Wye lies within Cusop’s settlement boundary.

Consisting of two semi-detached buildings either side of a driveway, the three-bedroom homes would each have what the application describes as “ancillary home office spaces over carports to the rear”.

The inclusion of “distinct” home office space would give the occupants “flexible and prudent levels of amenity and accommodation in a post-Covid world”, it adds.

The homes would be designed for ease of mobility, with “generous” doors and corridors as well as an open-plan ground floor intended as a “social hub”.

The design for the houses would “maximise the dwelling potential within a small footprint” of 78 square metres each, making them more affordable, the application says.

They would also be highly insulated and take energy from air source heat pumps, while construction materials would be locally sourced.
