A former sandwich shop looks set to be converted into a laundrette under new plans.
The proposal would see sandwich shop Scoffs in Worcester’s New Street transformed into a new laundrette as part of plans by Delta Property.
A new extension would also be built behind the grade II-listed building to make way for a new apartment.
The first and second floor of the building would remain as apartments.
A statement included with the application said: “The overall scheme seeks a rear extension to the building to provide an apartment on the ground floor and bathroom at first floor level.
“It is proposed that the small previous re extension will be removed in its entirety due to its structural stability. This will be replaced at first floor level to provide a bathroom to the first-floor extension.
“On the ground floor, a rear, flat roofed extension will provide an additional apartment.
“The first and second floor will largely remain unaltered with the exception of the removal of modern stud walls and the insertion of new stud walls to provide the required accommodation for each apartment.
“The proposal will see the continued use of the ground floor as a commercial unit and secure the maintenance of the upper floor of the building.”
Neighbouring coffee shop Phat Nancy’s closed in 2018 and restaurant Saffrons Bistro shut its doors after a quarter of a century in the city last year – and was replaced by vegan restaurant Be The Change.
