A British Army officer from Hereford who become the second person to cross Antarctica unassisted - just two days after the first - has returned to the UK.
Captain Lou Rudd took 54 days to cover the 900 mile trek, without any fresh supplies being dropped off.
The father of three from Hereford says he didn't realise he was in a race with Colin O'Brady until just before he started.
