Worcester City Council is offering individuals, local community groups and voluntary sector organisations the opportunity to benefit from a £100 contribution to help meet the costs of a street party or social gathering over the festive months.

The funding, which comes from central government, is designed to help bring communities back together again as the city continues to recover from the impact of COVID.

"If you're planning a street party over the next few months or you’re organising an event to help bring people together in your community, then the City Council is in a position to offer a small contribution towards the festivities," said Cllr James Stanley, Chair of Worcester City Council's Communities Committee.

The funding can be used to cover the costs of entertainment, food, reusable partyware, soft drinks and decorations.  The closing date for applications is March 21 2022.
