The Fire Fighters Charity has benefited by several hundred pounds from the efforts of Teme Valley Young Farmers Club

Club members held a tractor run on Sunday, 9 January to raise funds for the FFC and Prostate Cancer UK.

A remarkable turnout of 87 tractors followed a 25-mile route through the north Herefordshire countryside.

And, as a result, Deb Davies, Station Commander of Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s North Herefordshire cluster and Watch Commander Andrew Bradley from Kingsland Fire Station were invited along by the club to receive a cheque for £578.60 to benefit the charity.

“Over the years, we have had many club members whose parents have been on-call firefighters at our local station, Kingsland, and we wanted to raise the profile of the amazing work of Kingsland Fire Station and their crew,” said club chairman Chloe Harris.

“We are very pleased and proud to be donating £578.60 to the Fire Fighters Charity on behalf of Teme Valley YFC as we are keen to support their invaluable work.

“If you would like more information about Teme Valley YFC, we meet at Aymestrey Parish Hall on the first & third Wednesday of the month, 7.30-9pm, and we would welcome anyone thinking about joining the YFC to come along and meet us.”

“We are very grateful to the club for this fantastic achievement and for their continuing support,” said SC Davies and WC Bradley.

“We wish them every success for the future and look forward to inviting the club members down to visit Kingsland Fire Station when the better weather arrives.”
