A 22-year-old man from the West Midlands remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of the murder of Robert Eacock.
The man was arrested in Willenhall at approximately 3am this morning by officers from West Mercia Police.
Mr Eacock died in hospital on Monday night, after being stabbed during an incident on Hereford's Commercial Street at around noon that day.
Superintendent Sue Thomas said: "I'd like to thank the many members of the public who have come forward to assist our investigation. I know it's been a disruptive and upsetting time for the local community, and officers investigating the murder are extremely grateful for the support they have received.
"Our thoughts remain with Robert Eacock's family, who are being supported by specially trained officers. I would like to request that their privacy please be respected."
