The town council contributes £10,000 per year for a fortnightly afternoon appointments service which operates out of the library on Cantilupe Road.
Several councillors said the CAB did magnificent work and some suggested increasing the council’s contribution to them.
Councillor Chris Bartrum said: “They do a bloody good job.”
The services can only be accessed initially by phoning the CAB who will then make an appointment with a specialist adviser if necessary.
